Kagaj means paper.
Two floors in an old house in Bakhundol: books downstairs, a reading room upstairs, and a long table where the Saturday book club argues kindly.
Chosen, not just ordered.
We read most of what we sell. Nepali literature has its own wall, translations sit next to the originals, and the children's corner has cushions on the floor.
Can't find something? We order from publishers in Kathmandu, Delhi and London every week.
Not on our shelves?
Tell us the title and we'll order it. Most books arrive in two to three weeks, and there's no deposit.
Asked at the till.
Can I read before I buy?
Of course. Take anything up to the reading room. Just bring it back down.
Do you buy second-hand books?
On Saturday mornings we look through second-hand books and offer store credit for the ones we can sell.
Do you supply schools?
Yes, with a discount on class sets and library orders. Use the form below.
How do I pay?
Cash, card, eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay QR at the counter.
